From temporary jobs to entrepreneurial dream: Iva Laundry

In the center of the Croatian City of Šibenik, Mrs. Iva Rakić realized her longtime entrepreneurial dream and opened a commercial laundry named Iva.

Laundries are a fantastic opportunity to enter and stay in entrepreneurial waters, which Mrs. Iva wisely recognized. Laundry in a tourist town is a smart business step, and to make the performance at the top level, she turned to our team for support.

From temporary jobs to entrepreneurial dream

"I worked many temporary jobs, mainly in the trade and catering. That did not provide me with security. I wanted a more stable business future and to become independent, my own boss," Mrs Iva recalls and adds:

"Within the family house, we have a space that has been unused for years, and I often thought that it would be a shame not to use its potential. I took the initiative and turned my entrepreneurial dream into reality."

Regarding the financial side, Ms. Iva applied for a self-employment subsidy, and the process went very smoothly. She combined it with a loan and thus got a 'wind at her back' to start her own business.

"Your team has done a 3D modelling of the space and installations, which helped me a lot - not only to see how my laundry would look but also to get financing. I attached it to the other documentation and thus showed how perspective the project is," she says.

"I got used to the devices very quickly! I have never been in contact with professional laundry equipment before, but they are so easy to use that there's just no room for any issues," Mrs. Iva points out.

That's where I present all its advantages to my followers. Removal of difficult-to-remove unpleasant odors, disinfection even in cold water (which makes it suitable for treating sensitive laundry), linen softness without fabric softener, environmental friendliness, etc. All this intrigued them and helped me stand out from other laundries."

Successful first season

Mrs. Iva has a successful first tourist season behind her, and her clients are mostly apartment renters. In the summer, tourists who did not have washers and dryers in the apartments often came with their clothes.

On the other hand, the city's residents usually bring large items that do not fit in their household washers and dryers, such as blanketsquilts, and pillows.

"Given that this was the first season, I didn't have high expectations, but everything turned out great! When it was particularly crowded, family members "jumped in" to help me, so for the next season, I plan to hire more workers. With the clients I worked with this season, I have agreements for the next one. Also, the new ones are asking for collaboration," says Mrs. Iva.
