Bright World and LG at ExpoDetergo 2026: new technology, shared insights and fresh ideas

Connecting with the industry in Milan

The best conversations at a trade show often begin with a piece of equipment and lead to a new idea for working together. That was very much the spirit of our time at ExpoDetergo International in Milan, where we joined our longstanding partner, LG Electronics.

ExpoDetergo brings together manufacturers, distributors and textile care professionals. For us, it was an opportunity to present the latest developments alongside the LG team, reconnect with our partners and hear how market needs are evolving.

Our time on the stand brought together technical discussions, shared experiences and familiar faces. We were especially pleased to catch up with existing partners, hear their impressions of the new equipment and discuss plans for the months ahead.

Wet Cleaning: a new option for delicate fabrics

One of the highlights was the European debut of LG’s Wet Cleaning solution. An alternative to conventional dry cleaning, it uses water and specially formulated detergents to care for delicate garments.

At its heart is MotionCare technology, which combines gentle washing, precise drum movements and low-temperature drying. The aim is to care for textiles while reducing the risk of shrinkage, colour transfer and changes to fabric structure.

This combination prompted some interesting conversations: where could the solution be introduced, which customers would benefit most, and how could it complement an existing professional textile care offering?

Professional Laundry: details that make a difference

LG also presented production models from its Professional Laundry range, with a focus on adapting water consumption to the load and maintaining stability during operation.

AI Weight Detection identifies the laundry load and adjusts water use accordingly. The Dynamic Ball-Core System monitors drum imbalance, helping to stabilise the load and reduce vibration.

Behind these technical names are questions familiar to anyone working with professional laundry equipment: how does a machine respond to different loads, how efficiently does it use resources, and how does it perform under heavier workloads?

The show gave us the opportunity to explore those questions alongside the machines themselves, share experiences and discuss what the features mean in real operating conditions.

A clearer view of laundry operations

Alongside the new equipment, digital solutions were an important part of the presentation.

The LG LaundryCrew app enables remote monitoring and control of connected machines. An Open API also creates opportunities to integrate data with existing business systems, with separate development required for that integration.

This places equipment within the wider context of a business. Beyond how much laundry a machine can process, it increasingly matters how easily users can monitor its operation and fit it into their existing workflows.

For our partners, it was an opportunity to explore capabilities that will inform conversations with their customers and help shape future projects.

Efficiency is more than a figure on a specification sheet

Water, energy and detergent consumption came up in many of our conversations at the show. With good reason: over time, the cost of each cycle becomes a significant part of a business’s overall operating costs.

That is why we look beyond a list of features when assessing new technology. We want to understand how it can be applied, who stands to benefit most and what difference it can make to everyday laundry operations.

This is where trade show meetings are particularly valuable. Our partners’ experiences put the technology into context, while direct conversations with the manufacturer help clarify its capabilities.

Working alongside LG and our partners

Our participation in Milan was an opportunity to connect LG’s latest developments with the market knowledge and experience we have built through our partner relationships.

We discussed equipment, but also everything involved in presenting it to customers and putting it into use: access to information, technical support and the needs of individual markets. These conversations help us better understand what our partners need and how we can support their work.

Between scheduled meetings and presentations, there was also time for something we always look forward to: catching up with familiar faces, meeting industry colleagues and exchanging ideas away from the pressure of everyday deadlines.

The show is over, but the conversations continue

We return from Milan with fresh insights, valuable feedback and plans to develop further with our partners.

Thank you to everyone who visited the LG stand and took the time to meet the Bright World team. We look forward to continuing those conversations and working on projects that put the technologies on display into practice.
